  • Special Lectures from Prof. Dr. Jörn H. Kruhl for MSc Engineering Geology II semester is scheduled from March 13 to 19, 2017.

Jörn H. Kruhl is Professor Emeritus at Technische Universität München, Germany. He studied Geology and Geophysics at Hamburg University, received his Doctoral Degree in mineralogy and petrology from the University of Bonn and his Habilitation in mineralogy and crystallography from the University of Mainz. He held appointments in research and teaching at universities in Mainz, Salzburg, Berlin, and Frankfurt, and is an Alumni of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

During the last four decades, Kruhl was a visiting researcher at numerous universities in Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Italy, Jordan, Nepal, and the USA. His focus of research was and still is structures of geomaterials, from micro to macro, their quantification, and their effects on physical properties of materials. In addition, he is performing investigations on hydrothermal systems (geothermal energy), sound-rock music and in geotourism.
